Novak was developed from a proposed My Little Pony logo. In 1999 Hasbro asked Hughes to take a look at the brand and suggest ways in which it might be refreshed. In 2012 the brand was finally relaunched – and though uncredited, the new styling owes much to Hughes’ original proposals.
